Okay, so due to my *censored* PhD, I wasn't on the road trip. However I have been given the official word (and now, posting access! :p) to contribute to the introduction... the Friday Night of Glory.
This is the car that took me to Sydney Airport to pick up bacardibreezer7
for our own little mini road trip down to jussacgirl
And this is me getting into the car. My expression says, "This is the fourth photo I've taken, and NONE of them look nice. WTF is going on?"
I was tired. I was very tired actually and had some trouble keeping my eyes open on the trip down. Which is not cool.
Anyway, I made it to the airport, and drove around Arrivals about six times hoping I'd run across Kazzy (as opposed to run over
, which would also not be cool). I've never driven around Arrivals before, as my parents always ask to be picked up from Departures. I see why. Each loop around took like 5 minutes, because you had to battle the taxis, and there wasn't actually any place to stop and pick people up anyway. Not that I really cared about the driving speed, because I was driving as slow as possible trying to find Kaz.
Anyway, so when she got off the plane I suggested Departures, where you're not TECHNICALLY supposed to pick people up, but there was hardly anyone up there so it really didn't matter. And we found each other! And teh mini road trip began, with our drive to Wollongong. 'Twas uneventful, except for our sneaky use of a Maccas facilities without actually spending any money there.
So. We made it to J's, as previously described. veiledsarami
was there also, and excitement reigned! We ate and talked and took some photos...
See, we took photos.
I'm not ever going to be a fencer, am I?
And Sarah went home and a bit later I went to bed, because I'm a piker like that.
The next morning, I think I had some breakfast, and then... I drove home. And yes, my children, that is what is known as an anti-climax. Going home (via work, no less) instead of going on the BEST ROAD TRIP EVAH. Pity me.
